NO NEED TO SKIP

3 Snappy Adverts. Here are some steps towards creating eye-catching content!

“Why so short?”

With many users having the option to skip advertising content. Short and catchy is more important than ever!

ADVERT 1 – PEN

The Pen Co.

What I used to create the first advert:
-Pens -Black Cloth – small table
-Paper -Bedside Lamp -Tripod
-Camera

Step 1 – Setting up

I hung a large sheet of cloth at the back of the room. Then set a table 3-4 feet ahead of the cloth. The further away you set the table, the easier it will be to light the subject later. (although as you extend the distance a larger the cloth may be needed)

I placed the pen in a holder, so the pen was sat upright and set the camera facing towards the pen with the black screen filling the frame.

I placed the adjustable desk lamp nice and close to illuminate the pen. In the top left of the picture you can the second lamp used to fill the back of the pen.

Step 2 – Getting the Shots

Placement of the lighting in step one is key for this stage. Make adjustments whilst looking from the perspective of the camera.

Setting the Iso Low will reduce the gain of the sensor, to help reduce noise. This lens has a f stop of 5.6 then the shutter speed was set at 6.

The goal is to have a black background with a well lit subject (in this case the pen)

For the drawing shot 3 pens tied together with a bobble. Drawing the pens on a well lit piece of paper with the camera set to automatic.

Step 3 – Putting it all together

I added in the titles and layered 3 photos of the pens within Premiere Pro. Using the edit window I manipulated the settings to produce the desired effects.

Keframe animation is a great tool to manipulate objects. Adding in “keyframes” and changing the values between frames will produce the animations.

Here are two other examples.

ADVERT 2 – CHILLI OIL

ADVERT 3 – CHILLI OIL

Using the the techniques from example one, I have produced adverts 2 and 3. With the addition of a turntable, I was able to film rotating objects! Enjoy!
